Most of the houses we work on in Manchester are Victorian and Edwardian semis and terraces in Didsbury, West Didsbury, Chorlton and Withington, and 1930s semis in Burnage and Heaton. They have solid walls, timber floors and decades of earlier alterations, and the job is to open them up and extend them without losing what makes them worth owning.
Recent Manchester work includes a £160,000 rear extension in Didsbury with a bookmatched marble island, minimal-frame sliders and a new staircase, and a £120,000 kitchen extension nearby under a full-length glazed roof with crittall-style doors. The person who prices the job runs it on site, and we're twenty minutes down the A56 from our office on The Downs in Altrincham.

Many south Manchester streets sit in conservation areas, including parts of Didsbury and Chorlton, which affects what can be built and the materials. We co-ordinate Building Control and work to your architect's planning drawings, or recommend one.
